Red Flag Auction - 1993 Rawlings Ryne Sandberg bat

I just want to give forum members a heads-up on this current ebay auction:http://cgi.ebay.com/Ryne-Sandberg-GA...QQcmdZViewItem

I was contacted by the previous owner of the bat and was given photos to compare with the auction. If you look closely at the grain around the name you can see that it is a perfect match.

I have contacted the ebay seller and received the following response within a few minutes:

"you dont have a clue to what you're talking about ... for one, there is no doctoring of the bats - because there is little game use on it ... if i was to doctor a damn bat to make money, i would pound the shit out of it - not a tiny cleat mark!!! ... (and) two: this bat has never been on ebay!!!! ... (and) three get a life and leave peoples auctions alone - you big loser!!!!!! ... now go get a life and stop worrying about mine!!!!! ... i dont have to explain anything to anyone ... we know people in high places - so dont worry about how i obtain my merchandise ... i have gamers that would blow you away ........ i guess my mantle gamer - bonds rookie gamer (s) are doctored as well ........ get a life you POS and leave me the hell alone ..... i will report your ass straight to ebay for harassment .........."

As you can see, this seller is truly a class act. If you check the thread with the doctored Jose Canseco gamer you can see it was offered by the same seller. http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...?t=5196&page=3

Just wanted to let the collecting community to steer well clear of this one.

Maybe its me...but it looks like a different bat.

Look at the "E" in RYNE".. One E is higher than the rest of the name, and looks to be right on top of the "N"...

    maybe im wrong....

I agree with Tim. The grain of the bat is dead on.

What a shady seller, and it appears the seller knows it too.
Wanted: Minnesota Twins throwback or special event jerseys.

Here is another one too?.Whats really scary for me is that he had a 96 sign gamer with a ton of use that sold on ebay about a month ago.

I have avoided this seller for some time now. Glad to see a few others with doubts now.
