Forum Readers-
Several readers have asked my opinion on the following Broadway Rick's jersey:

It is described as a game McGwire worn 1998 All Star jersey. The only problem, however, is that the gamers has 2-tone letters and names on back, not single tone white as this one has. Likewise, the letter style on the MAC is completely incorrect. Similar MAC jerseys are currently listed on ebay as retail shirts, as they should be. These single tone jerseys were sold to the general public. A photo of Greg Maddux in a corrctly manufactured jersey is shown here:

Howard,

You'd have to be an absolute nutbar to give this guy even a dime. What complete trash we see again and again and again. I'm sure I'll be selectively edited for this post (so read fast), but how much of this garbage can this hobby stand?

Plus the size is wrong. Mac wore XL or the equivalent size 48 in the mid 90's for a short time I believe then in the later Oakland years was a 50. In 1998 he wore a size 52, which equated I believe to a XXL not an XL.

Not that it counts for much but IMHO Broadway Ricks' is second only to Lou Lampson when it comes to questionable authenticity of memorabilia.

MLB.com store has been selling the All Star BP/HR Derby jerseys for many years now and sells them as the "Authentics". I thought the big difference between the Authentics vs. the Real Game used is that the real ones were size #"d tagged such as a 52 instead of a XL. I don't have any 1998's but have other years from different players that have number tags.

Although I didn't see the a close-up of the sig, it looks like a possible Mac sig. Would like to see a close-up of the "g" as that was hard to see in the pic.

As far as the sig goes, it could be a case of good from far but far from good!
