    OT: Hunt "Satchell" Paige

    Hey everyone-

Just got the Hunt Auction MLB Fanfest Auction catalog and had a question for you vintage and autograph guys.

Hunt has 3 signed baseballs of pitching legend Satchel Paige. Two of them have his name spelled "Satchel" and one has "Satchell"

Did he sign both ways? I have an email in to Hunt with the same question. All three have a James Spence LOA

I have heard that Paige did indeed sign his name both ways.

Satchel did sign his name both ways. However, I've heard that the two "L" variation is from his earlier days. Those autographs typically command a much higher bid.

"'Trust me' government asks that we concentrate our hopes and dreams on one man; that we trust him to do what's best for us. My view of government places trust not in one person or one party, but in those values that transcend persons and parties. The trust is where it belongs--in the people." - Ronald Reagan"

Hunt also confirmed that Satchel Paige signed his name both ways. Interesting...
