Just an update on some of the G/U items the Reds have been cutting loose at the "Saturday Stadium" auctions..I attended this past weekend & saw the following available (price quotes are what I saw w/1 inning to go in the auctions-maybe someone can update) Josh Hamilton Spring Training Jersey signed ($400); Brandon Phillips 2006 Home Wht Pants signed ($150); Javier Valentin pants Road Gry Pants signed (no bids, starting @ $150); Ryan Freel Batting Helmet signed ($150); Scott Hatteberg Road Gry Jersey 2006 (no bids, starting @$300). On a side note, the club honored a local HS team, Lakota West prior to the game. They were introduced individually to the crowd, then stood in front of the Reds dugout while other festivities continued. As Phillips took the field for last minute sprints, he went down the line & greeted each kid on his way to the outfield. Minutes later, Hamilton was in the middle of the group signing autographs for all of them. They couldn't have been happier..Say what you want about Hamilton, he's really won over the fans in Cincy w/ his play & attitude this season. Here's hoping the "feel-good" story continues. Jay.
