You know, I was just thinking......

So often, we look at pictures of each others items and I know that I always think "man, I'd love to see that in person".

What if those of us reasonably close to each other planned some type of get together? We could meet at a restaurant for lunch or something one day and we could bring our favorite pieces to share. I'm not talk about something as formal as a convention, but maybe just something to meet our fellow collectors and share the enjoyment of our hobby.

Thoughts?

Atlantic City would be a decent halfway point on the East side of the country then we could all gamble too.

I suggest Lou Lampson as the keynote speaker if he would volunteer his time. If Lou did this, I am sure everyone on the Forum would travel for that speech. Topics to include his descriptions in his LOAs.

John Taube's shop is a few miles from Atlantic City so we could get him to speak too.

I suggest Lou Lampson as the keynote speaker

Trouble is, if he is keynote speaker at our gig, he might have 800 other speeches to make over the course of the same weekend. We might not exactly get a quality speech.

I'm sure we'd get a speech of the same quality as his LOA's on game used items..........

What if we all had a meet-up in different cities? Like one for the southeast area (like Atlanta), one for the northeast area (like New York, Atlantic City), one for the west coast (like SF,LA),etc.etc.etc.

Anyone interested in meeting up for dinner of something in Cleveland between August 1-5 since a number of us are going to be there anyway for the National?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris, I'm in for meeting in Cleveland during the National. Friday or Saturday night would probably be best as most people don't come in until the weekend. The Indians are out of town so there won't be any ballgames to go to. I'm flying up on Friday morning so either Friday or Saturday is good for me.

Louisville, Kentucky would be a great place for everyone to meet. It's centrally located for everyone east of the Mississippi and everyone could go to the Louisville Slugger factory and museum.

Hey! It was my idea! Can I get some love for Richmond? :)

We have AAA baseball here and lots to see, history wise.
