Is there an accepted, or widely used, set of abbreviations for describing the condition of a g-u bat, in a list or catalog?
I have my own, that I use as shorthand on my own collection list, which mostly consists of
s - small
m - moderate
e - extensive
h - handle
b - barrel
c - crack
dw - deadwood
f - front
r - reverse
x - multiple
So, for example, I'd describe a bat with multiple small to moderate handle cracks, both front and back, as "s-m hcx f/r", or a bat with an extensive handle crack in the front that extends into the barrel, and deadwood on the back side of the barrel, as "e h/bc f, bdw r".
