Announcing Game Used Universe’s Forum Auction!

Hello Everyone,

In response to numerous requests, Game Used Universe is pleased to present its first Forum Auction. As background, while the 'Items For Sale' forum on this site has continued to gain in popularity, many transactions are taking place in a way where the buyer is not gaining the benefit of the item images, and full item descriptions, being posted on the Game Used Universe site. That is, when item images and full descriptions are posted on the GUU site, collectors have an opportunity to ask questions and get feedback from GUU Experts and the entire GUU community.

In keeping with our goal of providing maximum benefits to collectors, we have created the Forum Auctions to provide a more formalized process to help collectors make truly informed purchase decisions about items being sold on Game Used Universe. However, please note that the current Forum Auction is being done on a very small scale to pilot the concept as well as sell a few items for entities who requested we offer their items in a GUU auction format.

As a side note, we are also in the process of developing protocols that will enable Game Used Universe auctions to be completely automated in the near future and we will keep you posted on these developments.

Also, please note that we will be adding more items to the current Forum Auction listings over the next few days as we have a collection of beautiful single signed baseballs of a number of star players that we will be adding for anyone interested. We will make another announcement once those items are listed.

Hello Everyone,

We thought it was a good time to provide on update on the current GUU Forum Auction. Since this post covers a few different points, I have added headers to clearly differentiate the various topics addressed here:

Recently Added Items

Please note that we have added 17 beautiful single-signed (sweet spot) autographed baseballs of current major league stars and Hall-of-Famers. These signed baseballs were part of a large collection amassed by a former San Francisco Giants visiting clubhouse attendant who got the autographs in person. All of the baseballs were also authenticated by Global Authentications and the winner of each lot will receive the ball and the LOA pictured in the auction description. If you haven't seen them yet, please feel free to take a look at these great items. They are lots 14 to 30 in the following auction item listings:

NO Buyer's Premiums

Since we have been asked to clarify if that statement was true, we thought it was a good time to confirm to everyone that there will be NO buyer's premiums in this auction. The amount of the bid is the amount the winning bidder will pay. This also holds true in this auction even if the winning bidder pays with a credit card.

Bidding Updates

Please note that we have added threads to show the current bidding information for both the game used items (that close on March 22nd) and the autographed items (that close on March 27th). Please note that these prices are updated every day and the title line shows the time of the last update. In addition, if you prefer, you can get the current bidding information for an individual item by placing your cursor over the title line for any item and waiting a second or two. After a couple of seconds, the bidding information should appear right below the cursor.
