Question regarding 2000 World Series game used bat...

I have a question regarding my Kurt Abbott game used 2000 World Series bat. I have it photomatched to Game 5 so I know for a fact it was indeed used in the World Series. I can only see blue ink-transfer marks instead of gold ones on the barrel so would this mean that this bat also was used during the playoffs/regular season? Or did they also use regular OML baseballs in the series with blue lettering on the baseballs?

    Kyle,

I just acquired Mike Bordick's 2000 GU WS bat that I was able to video match looking at video of game 3. This bat has blue and gold ball marks. I believe the blue marks are attributed to batting practice because regular season balls were probably used during BP. This is most likely why your Abbott barrel has the blue ball marks too. As we all know the Abbott you have is a definite photo game used bat which Kurt split in game 5.

As an aside I finally figured out how to transfer from video to DVD on my combo recorder. If I can find some time I will tranfer the Abbott ab to dvd/CD for you. LMK if you still are interested.

    Kyle,

Here's a link to the August Pickups thread which contains photos of the Bordick. Please note the blue ball marks.

Also I have a Matt Franco 2000 WS BP used gamer. I know for a fact that Franco did not use a Louisville slugger in the 2000 ws and stuck with his black rawlings adirondacks. The 2000 Franco BP 2000 WS bat has tons of blue ball marks.

    Regards

Thanks! I was just starting to think that it may have been a BP bat last night, but wasn't sure.

I just picked up a baseball that the seller says he caught during batting practice of Game 2 at Yankee Stadium of the 2000 World Series. The manufacturered writings on the baseball are in gold while on either side of the baseball, the team logos were stamped in blue ink. Hope this helps,

    Jim
