Besides the year tag being completely different than the standard Wilson embroidery, how many other problems does this "rare 1985 Clemens jersey" have?

While I concur with Howard regarding the tagging issues, I'm not sure the autograph is a "horrible fake one." Certainly appears to be a authentic vintage mid-1980's Clemens graph....

It should be further noted that not only is the year tag manufactured in a non-traditional Wilson style embroidery, but the tag in the collar is also wrong! Both the year tag and Wilson tag should be sewn in the tail.

Any thoughts on the numbers?

Maybe Roger had an "off day" or signing cloth makes his autograph look different but I'd bet next weeks paycheck that this auto is a fake. Just too many odd things about it compared to other Clemens autos I've seen. Even compared to the one you showed, it doesnt match up. I still say fake.

The numbers look fine but the last year the Red Sox had the Wilson tag in the collar was 1981. I also located a couple other Clemens jerseys from 1985 and they were size 44.

The tag appears to be a legit Wilson Tag, but from the Minors and appears to be like the one on my Riverside Class A California League Jersey from the early 90's.

I'm not a tagging expert by any means, but do know what it looks like.

Without passing judgement, is it possible the Clemens Jersey is a Minor League Wilson that has been altered?

Guys as far as the autograph its real. One way to prove it is look at the letters in his writing. Roger personalized a photo of me and him last night in Tampa and its his writing hasnt changed a bit. The handwriting matches which leads me to believe the auto is real. I dont have a camera with me otherwise i'd show you guys. Hope i helped a little.

Geez, I feel so stupid....the darn Wilson Tag is in the wrong place! It should be on the outside left bottom of the front and should also have a sewn on swatch of material (same material as the Jersey) under it with 85 (for the year) on it....

My premise of it being a Minor League Jersey may be the ticket....
