Historic Auctions Emmitt Smith
Question for Cowboys fans-
The new Historic Auctions offering has a listing for a 2002 "Emmitt Smith Game Used Jersey"
The jersey features one blue stripe on each sleeve.
The #22 on seems to be a skinnier style to my eye positioned lower on the jersey
And, there's a white section below the nfl shield i am not familiar with
The auction describes it as "This size 50 road jersey was used by all time rushing leader Emmitt Smith in the 2002 season. The jersey shows good to moderate use including heavy rubbing under the arms and around the neckline. This jersey is completely original with no alterations of any kind."
I'm used to seeing white Cowboys jerseys looking like this game photo from 2002-
Can anyone point me to game photos of Cowboys jerseys that look like the one being auctioned?
I would post a link to the auction listing, but Historic Auctions has banned any link from this forum.
Thanks

Re: Historic Auctions Emmitt Smith
The Historic Emmitt Smith with Lampson letter is back. Has anyone seen this style jersey on a Cowboys jersey before? I have been trying to find a photo.
It's interesting to see the kind of insight the hobby's leading expert puts into his LOA's. WOW. I mean, I'm in awe to be reading that kind of detail.

That is a lineman cut jersey
I have one from the 2002 season:
A few of the Cowboys lineman do wear jersey's with this type sleeve coming out of the body, and with only one stripe, but I have never seen a running back with this type of jersey. The tie down eyelet under the NFL shield is also something almost all Cowboys jersey's have and the use it to tied the shirts to the shoulder pads.
The thing with this jersey is that a ton of these game issued blank lineman jersey's were sold directly by the Cowboys. I heard some one bought over one hundred of them, and they still surface on Ebay from time to time. I am no expert on NFL jersey's by any means, but I am a life long Cowboys fan and they do have some unique features on some of there equipment. I would be suprised to see a photo surface of Emmitt wearing this style of jersey, but I suppose it is possible

Here are some additional photos
Here is one from December of 02 with Emmitt and a lineman with the one strip on the sleeve.
Emmitt from the same game.
More 02 Lineman (one with the front tied down).
Emmitt from October 02
Could not find one photo of Emmitt in that style of jersey.

Re: Historic Auctions Emmitt Smith
Are the #2's too skinny on the jersey being sold?

They do look smaller
And I am sure it is just the angle of the photo, but the right front #2 seems different than the other. Unless someone quickly viewed a photo with one of his sleeves bunced up (which I saw a few of, but quickly saw the other srtipe present) I would not think this is even close in my opinion.

Re: Historic Auctions Emmitt Smith
If you look at the size of the unfinished square the upper portion of the two #2's make the right one seems much smaller. Again could be just the angle or how it is sitting.

Re: Historic Auctions Emmitt Smith
Awesome info, thanks and great work Jay! Somebody had an idea when they bought the blank lineman jerseys I guess.

But seriously, what about the (lack of) detail in the LOA?
