Had a KILLER day w/ the Colts postgame (not including getting Peyton Manning to sign three things for me):

Hat and gloves are NOT for sale - sorry to anyone who asked - if they were for sale, they'd be listed in the "Collector to Collector" classifieds - for future reference, if it's not listed in that forum, please DO NOT ask me if it's for sale, because it's not.

Preston, I am not a fan of him or the Colts, but what a simply AWESOME item to have handed to you from a first ballot HOFer. And signed no less! Did you ask him for it, or did he just hand it to you? Great story to tell your grandchildren some day .

I searched completed auctions, and these were on eBay. Unfortunately they were not listed under "game cleats," so I didn't see them.

Big thanks to fellow board member John Giles for this one

Jimmie Giles game worn away jersey.
Although the jersey wasn't dated as to game use I was able to narrow it down to most likely having been used during the 1979 season based on the thick orange outline on the shoulder numerals and the fact that I was also able to find an undated video clip of Jimmie catching a TD pass against the Giants where immediately afterwards he is surrounded by Darryl Carpenter and Tony Davis whose only year together on the Bucs was 1979. The jersey he was wearing in the clip also had the same type of shoulder numerals as well as the numerals on the left shoulder being pressed more to the back of the jersey rather than right on top of the shoulder......the same as the jersey pictured here.
It can't be definitively matched to that particular game without better footage, of course, but I think 1979 is at least the correct year for this one. It has 4 team repairs, some cracking of the front numbers and some staining but otherwise it's in great shape.
