GU George Brett on E-Bay
Once again seeking an opinion on some "GU" George Brett items on E-Bay. Seller claims equipment is from a former Bat Boy, so I'm seeking opinions on this stuff. Take note of the GU batting helmet which appears to be right on...

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
I'm not an expert of Royals stuff but I find it odd that if all of these items came from one "bat boy connection", it would be hard to justify that a kid had access to a 1980 jersey and a 1991 helmet. 11 years seems to be an awfully long time for someone to be a bat boy, dont you think?

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
The helmet manufacturing date reads 12/91, indicating it was manufactured in Dec., 1991 and most likely used in 1992.

Notice the difference in the KC logos.
Personally, I'm not comfortable with this helmet being offered as a Brett gamer, with such drastic differences in the white KC on front.
If someone can offer a photo of Brett wearing the style offered on Ebay from 1992, I'd enjoy seeing it.

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
The serifs are much longer on the helmet on eBay when compared to the one in the picture of Brett:

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
Kyle-
My point exactly! The logos are completely different. Unless someone can find this style of logo used in 1992 (or any year from 1992+) I would not touch this with a 10 foot pole.
Thanks for taking the 2 photos and placing them side-by-side.

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
Anyone ever seen a Brett jersey with a "G. Brett" before?
Here is a pic of Brett in Aug of 1980. Guess what, no "G".SCOTT

Re: GU George Brett on E-Bay
Thanks for the help guys. Class act indeed, and he's making all kinds of money with his "GU" stuff.
I had one question about the jersey: the year tag seems to be in the wrong place. I have some late 70's jersey's and the year tag is below the back collar. This one (although it is the same stitching) is elsewhere on the jersey. Any opinions?
