Majestic removing and re-sewing wash tags?

2007 Jason Varitek Red GU Jersey (0062 Tags Removed and Resewn - Steiner LOA)
interesting indeed.
anyway, barry meisel has explained the details of how the meigray process works. he's explained that all jerseys are pre-tagged upon entering the locker room and each unique id is entered into a database. therefore, hypothetically speaking, if a player or someone were to sneak a jersey out of the clubhouse, it should still technically have a tag with unique id. barry's also detailed how he's personally gone into lockerrooms after games and inventoried every jersey into the database, etc. i understand the system and think it's a good one.
that said, i am curious how steiner's system works. apparently, from the various 07 red sox and yankee gamers escaping the clubhouse with no steiner/mlb tagging, they don't pre-tag all jerseys. it seems they tag them after the fact. if this is the case, how do they keep track of which ones were used and which weren't? i'm also curious to know what system the red sox use in order to know for a fact that a jersey was used.
rudy.

That's too suspicious. Since getting into the GU jersey market and obtaining info from this site, it's the first thing I look if the jersey has a wash tag.
