O/T but need help
Hi
I posted this over on the autograph part and no one wrote back so dont get made because it's off topic. I bought this signed derek jeter baseball at a local auction a couple of days ago and i was wondering if you guys think its real. I believe it may be a rookie or pre-rookie autograph. Also the auto is on a Gen A. Budig ball. Thanks

My opinion...I think you got hosed. Hope you didn't spend a lot of money on it. Have been in posession of plenty of Jeter stuff too. If I am wrong - I am wrong no biggie, just an opinion...

Re: O/T but need help
I agree with bigtruck260---looks nothing like the early autos on eBay. To me, it looks like a bad forgery of his current auto.
On a different note, he looks to be a rare player whose signature got better over time, not worse.

Re: O/T but need help
Hi
Thanks for the help. I only payed $42 for it. Im also going to send it out to psa just in case, because a local card place did issue a Letter with it. If its a fake of his current auto why would they put it on a Budig ball and not a Selig ball.

Re: O/T but need help
Probably because they figure (and no offense)...that if you were gullible enough to buy it, then you probably would not put 1 and 2 together. I have seen some strange things in my time collecting. $42 for a legit Jeter ball is very low.
Save yourself some money. List the auction on eBay for a penny and send it to PSA Quick Opinion ($7.49). You will probably get an answer by the end of the day.
Again, this is only an opinion. I could very well be wrong.
