Townball Baseball Gusset Ball on eBay

This is an interesting ball. Not just for what it is (it's a great ball), but more for the interest it garnered. I saw articles about this ball when it was found, so it's interesting to now see it for sale. The auction is kind of funny..this woman really tries to build it up, and she truly believes she has something quite remarkable. It's a great ball, but unfortunately I wouldn't expect it to go for $4-5K.

I would expect it to go for more like $500-750. I someone does want to spend $5k, feel free to make me an offer on my gusset townball.

Here is a link. I would gladly sell it for that amount .

She tried to sell this ball a month ago with no takers. I also have followed the stories on this ball for some time and have it in my database of 19th century baseballs.

The price is too high, however, it should go higher than normal due to it's publicity. Based on the condition, however, the $500 to $700 is probably more like it.

Here's my townball, for sale if the price is right It's 6.5 inches in diameter and 2.5 oz. Perfect for "soaking" a runner.
