I just recently acquired a Pudge Nike bat, and am trying to find out more info on it. What years were Nike bats made? Is there an increase in value for these? they seem to be pretty rare
The two Nike bats I have are a Danny Sheaffer and Ray Lankford Cardinals bats. They are both black bats with white printing and their numbers are screened onto the knobs. I believe that they are both from '96.
From what I've heard, there were only a few bats made for a handful of players. The number that sticks in my head is that there were only 6 Lankford bats made for his use.
used to own a nike arod bat from 1996. think they made only 2 for him. i sold it because it barely looked like it was used. these are very rare tho.

I had forgot about Tim's articiles in SCD, just another thing I miss for the old SCD. I recently cleaned out a closet and found a bunch of double issue SCD...over 200 pages. Pretty big difference compared to the 60 page issues that include 10 pages of fake coach's corner autos.

just dug this thread up for some info and thought id share and ask for an opinion of the board.
i just recieved thsi bat from a member of the forum who was gracious enough to help me out with it.
i love it. its one of the best items i currently have and was in my top 5 list of items to find. it shows very nice use with great ball marks, ink transfers and the doughnut ring marks along with pine tar and cleat marks.
anyhow, thinking that these bats were likely used in 1996, is it possible (or probable) that they would carry over into the next season? possibly during interleague play?
the reason i ask is that there is an ink transfer that appears to be a light blue rawlings (American league ball) mark near the upper portion of the handle / center label. the pics below should show this.
