    Talking Re: Soxfest

I went. But i had a funny experience/reason for going. I'm a Darin Erstad player collector as well as the twins bat boy. So I went on Friday with my girlfriend and we both wore my Bat Boy jerseys around the 'fest. We got TONS of looks and harmless jeers.

The hotel was amazingly fancy. From what I could tell it was set up and organized well. I got in line to get in around 2:30 Friday afternoon for a 4:00 opening. They let us in about 15 minutes early and i bee-lined it to the Garage Sale. I was 6th in line and the first two guys in line are members on here! They let us in and it was a rush to the jersey racks.

i should've taken a picture of all the jerseys they had. They probably had 200 jerseys of all colors, players, and price ranges. Cheapest on Friday was 100 for bat boys all they way up to 750 (that I saw) for Thome/Thomas jerseys. I had my eyes set on 17 Erstad jerseys. Other people in there knew that's what I was looking for so if they were on another rack, they pulled them and let me have them. Despite being Sox fans/collectors, they were very friendly and helpful! In my hands, I had darin's green/white jersey that was signed and Authenticated. They wanted 350 for that. I had his grey road($250), Black Spring Training ($250), and white sleeveless($250) in had as well. I decided on just getting his road gray because that had the most use.

I then found his locker name plate for a WHOPPING 10 bucks so I snatched it up. They had hats from anywhere 10-50 bucks. I found a 17 hat for 10 bucks but when I got home realized it had the gray "under bill" so it must have been from last year (Gloads) Then I went to the helmet table and they were asking 200 for EVERY helmet. That's ridiculous so I walked away.

So for 270 on Friday I got a gray road jersey with great tagging, a 17 hat (that I'll probably get rid of soon) and his name plate. NOT BAD eh?

Then I went back Sunday morning to see what I could get on clearance. I went in to find pretty much everything still there. Not a whole lot moved because they had some pretty ridiculous prices on some stuff. I found a black cool base jersey from Darin's for 250 that I didn't see the first day. I snatched it up because it was amazing. I went and bought the 17 helmet for 50 bucks. Again, another disappointment because I got home and tried to photomatch the helmet and found that Darin only used the new style helmet, mine is the old style. So I'll be looking to sell that in the near future.

Overall a GREAT time was had at Soxfest. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy :-)

Sweet Erstad jerseys. So they even had the half way to St. Patrick day gamers for sale They are the green pinstripe ones. What about those all white one's they used a couple of times at home that were throwbacks. I think they only wore them twice, really really old school. I think they intended to be a Sunday home jersey, but they never really used them much at all. Did they have much for bats? any Thome?

Yeah the green pinstipe was really nice looking but I didn't want to spend 300 on a jersey that was worn twice. It was signed and authenticated though. Heck, they'll probably have it there next year for cheaper. They still had jerseys from last year with the World Series patch on the sleeve. There was only a handful of the turn back the clock beige jerseys but no Darin. I don't remember the price on those though. They had a TON of bats. Thome's included. They wanted at least 200 for every bat (including Darin's) on the first day. Sunday they were pretty much all marked down 1/2 price.

They probably had some there but I wasn't looking for his. I could have had my fair share of Thome game used jerseys though...oh well.

There's no way I'd pay half of what I paid for a game used jersey for a BP warmup jacket. Thanks for the heads up
