How do you trace Rawlings bats?
Hello,
If you have a game used Rawlings bat, hot do you track based on the serial # on the bottome of the bat? Does Rawlings have a # you can call to check if the bat was issued a certain year? I must say having that marked on the bat saves a lot of headaches as you don't have to wonder if it was from a certain year. A sure things indeed.
Let me know. Thanks!

Re: How do you trace Rawlings bats?
Brian, the small number under the model number is all you need to identify the year of a Rawlings bat.
On current bats, you'll see a three-digit number, then a space followed by a two-digit number. The first three digits are the batch number -- those coincide with the order number placed with Rawlings by a team. The last two digits tell you the year. "98" would be 1998; "04" would be 2004. The exception: in the 1980s, Rawlings just used a single digit ("2" would be 1982).
To learn more about batch numbers and year codes on Rawlings bats, you can read the "McGwire bat buyer's guide" at http://www.birdbats.com.
Hope that helps you.
