    Pete Rose 73-75 H&B S222...

35 inches and 35 ounces. Does that match his records? Thanks.

    Hi Greg--

During the 1973-75 H & B label period, Rose was shipped model S222 bats that were 35 inches in length and weighed D 35 ounces frequently between 5/22/73 and 5/9/74. Prior to that, within the labeling period, , his orders were for 33 ounce bats, and in mid-1974 he switched to 33 ounces, then back again to 34 ounces.

35 inch S222 bats during the period can be found with both Natural (2/5/73 to 5/4/73 and early 1975) ) and Flame Treated (8/7/73 to 6/3/74) finishes, and frequently were ordered with wide grain and with the weights marked on the knob.

    Good Luck
