Pete Rose hats

As a Phillies fan I've had an interest in Pete Rose hats. The hats I've seen go from size 7 to 7 1/2. That's a pretty big discrepancy in size. I was wondering if anybody on the forum would know his hat size while playing with the Phillies between 79-83? Having gotten autographs from him I would say 7 3/8, but I know he liked his hat to come off easily with a small size. Any insight would be appreciated.

I believe that the correct answer is 7 1/4". Earlier in his career he wore 7 1/8" hats. The difference may be due to the volume of hair on his head. Chuck Lumb, Pete Rose collector, Chicago
