Well the reason why I ask is because I have a game used bat of his. I bought it because of his coaching resume. But come to find out, there were three Jim Dietz that played in the minors. I believe it to be the Jim Dietz that played from 1962-70 in the minors, and then started his coaching career. Anyyyyways, I found a site for you that you might find some interest in. Take care!

Walter Mails, early 20th century Pacific Coast League pitching star, had a pretty good but brief run in the majors. Ball is official PCL.

Hi
Thought i would show some of my minor league baseballs
Most are from the Iowa Three I league
1) Is the Davenport Cubs in 1946 a very young Rube Walker
2) Is the Davenport Cubs in 1947 with a retired great IvaI Goodman as coach who was in all star and played for Cinn in the 1939 and 1940 W.S.
3) Is the Davenport Pirates in 1948 with retired coach Bill Burwell as coach. He had played for the Browns and Pirates in the 20's and also coach the Pirates Team as well
4) Is the Davenport Pirates in 1949 with a coach of Morris Arnovich who played for the Phillies, Cinn 1940 W.S. and the NYG
Some of his more famous players a very young Vern Law and Bob Purkey
5) The final ball is the Trois Rivers Royals (Brookyln Dodgers) coach Ed Head who pitched with the Dodgers in the 1940's
His most famous player is Billy Hunter who played for the Browns ,Yanks, A's and the Indians
