How do I know if this glove was ordered or used by a pro player?

I found a nice looking Rawlings PRO - CMG model catchers mitt . On the outside thumb is Gold Glove Series with Five dots underneath .

The glove is very well broken in and the leather straps that hold the pocket in are a little stretched . Besides that the glove is in great shape .....

Looks like someone wrote 1.99 on the inside pinky ?????

    Does anybody have any ideas.......

Forgot to mention . On the outside to the left of the wrist guard is a Circle with Made in Phillipines and a "T" in the middle circle......
    Thank you,

Most professional model gloves are made for the public as well. I dont think there is any way to know for sure if a pro used this one. You might check with Rawlings.

    David,

Just my opinion here but I don't think it was used by a pro player. The Gold Glove line is the cheapest or least expensive model made by Rawlings. A pro player is more likely to order a Pro Preferred model or Heart of the Hide model.

    Just my guess.

Exactly. I don't recall ever seeing a Pro using Gold Glove. Possibly a low level minor leaguer, but most kids in high school nowadays use HOTH or Pro Preferred, not Gold Glove. Also, on Rawlings' site, the gloves that they sell all say who uses what model, so you could check there. I doubt it though, but it's worth a shot.

Well, Heart of the Hides and Pro Preferred are Gold Glove series, but Gold Glove Series are not necessarily HOTH or PP. Kind of like all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. Rawlings puts Gold Glove on the Gold Glove series, HOTH, and PP. That is a Heart Of the Hide
