Ernie Banks bat on ebay
Hello I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this Banks bat on Ebay? Is it authentic and if so would the finish being sanded off drop the value greatly?

Thanks for any input.

Not that I claim to be an expert, but I wouldnt touch it... by someone sanding the bat down, for me that completely changes the bat... it's no longer the way it was if and when Ernie used it...
to me the value is zero.Bert

Re: Ernie Banks bat on ebay
The buyer of the bat is an authorized seller to the card companies, that bat will be cut up and put on trading cards

Re: Ernie Banks bat on ebay
Thanks for the response's, I was offered the bat at $800..00 and since it sold for $1700.00, I somewhat feel bad I passed on it. I just did not feel comfortable with it in my collection though, with the alteration. I can't believe it sold for that amount, but as it was mentioned, maybe the seller will sell it for alot more to a card company.
It sold last year at a AMI auction in the $700.00 range. Oh well.
