    Roberto Clemente 1961-64 era

    Hi,

Thanks again for the previous info. Really like this section.

Any shipping records for a Roberto Clemente 34" - 32oz - 016 model from the 1961-64 era? Can you list his bat orders for this time period?

    Thank you once again!

    Re: Roberto Clemente 1961-64 era

    Hi Sammy...

For that specific labeling period, here goes:

    1961 - S2 (36/35 and 35 / 32) 21 bats
    U1 (36/34, 36/35, 35/33) 30 bats
    K55 (36/34, 36/33) 13 bats including 1 All Star
    O16 (36/33) 7 bats including 1 All Star

    1962 - O16 (36/34, 36/35, 36/36) 24 bats including 2 All Star
    U1 (36/33.5, 36/34, 36/35) 78 bats including 2 All Star
    B193 (?) (36/34) 8 bats

    1963 - U1 (34.5/32, 35/32, 36/34. 36/32, 36/33, 36/32.5) 102
    bats incl 2 All Star
    S2 (34.5/32) 6 bats
    K55 (34.5/32) 6 bats
    O16 (34.5/32, 36/34, 36/35, 36/34.5, 36/36) 49 bats

NOTE: I am going to ask Jim if his records are any clearer for the first order of 1973 that was sent before spring Training to San Juan that included the 34.5 inch bats above and an additional dozen odd model bats (K48, M110, etc). Speculation has been that Clemente (amd other Latin American players) ordered many bats during the off season that he gave to youth leagues in his native country.

    1964 - O16 (36/34, 36/36) 14 bats
    U1 (36/34, 36/36, 36/37) 74 bats including 2 All Star
    S2 (36/36) 4 bats
    G105 (36/34, 36/36, 36/37, 37/36) 41 bats

    Good Luck !!!

    Mike

    Re: Roberto Clemente 1961-64 era

Hi Sammy - just to follow up to Mike's post, I believe that the first order of bats in 1963 were probably not used by Clemente and all were sent to San Juan for youth baseball. My records read as follows directly after the first order of 34.5" bats in 1963, of which there were 4 - U1 models, 4 - S2 models, 4 - K55 models and 4 - O16 models:

    For Clemente assorted models C12, M110, H176, K48 - A12 ( indicating 12 bats ) Bats sent to San Juan

It appears he ordered the twenty four - 34.5" bats mentioned above, as well as the models referenced above in the hand written notation.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. Thanks, Jim

    Thanks Jim--

Also, note that Clemente's H & B bat order chart is available on this site under Game Used Library.
