Re: Show us your game used college football jerseys
Just to clarify....
The NCAA rules say that the university is not allowed to sell jerseys with nameplates intact for players that still have eligibility remaining. Once the eligibility is gone, have at it.
In my case, I have a closet full of Tennessee jerseys, the vast majority of which have nameplates intact. The purchase of them wasn't actually done until years after the players' eligibility had been exhausted (anywhere from 5-15 years later, in fact). So no rules were broken, and I have some nice items.
As for the GT plates, I'd personally go ahead and get them made up but not have them attached. GT is my new second-favorite school since hiring Paul Johnson; as soon as he was announced I bought a GT hat.Looking for Duane Kuiper home run baseballs

Re: Show us your game used college football jerseys
Just to answer any questions- I am the owner of the Miami jersey (Sean Taylor) being discussed and it was not purchased from collegejerseys.com. I have both a Taylor and a Kellen Winslow that were sourced back to the team. I am familiar with the nameplate issue and have researched the nameplates pretty extensively via Getty.
Goalie, I appreciate you retracting your comment. The Taylor was purchased in 2006 and I have researched it extensively.
As far as collegejerseys.com, I have looked at a number of their items but never bought from them. Looks like their stuff is pretty good. It would be good to hear of any experiences other forum members have had with them.

late 80's gamer of former Gator defensive back Will White. This one came from a former equipment manager which is why the name is still on the back. UF sells old jerseys, but the names are always taken off, regardless of whether the player is still active or not.

Re: Show us your game used college football jerseys
Greg,
I have bought a lot of stuff from collegejersey.com, and have corresponded directly with Scott multiple times. Several years ago, they made a huge jersey purchase directly from ND (2004 maybe?), and have been selling them off ever since. Scott has been very helpful with any purchases, as well as any customer service issues that have come up.
The other thing that I like is Scott is very receptive to information and correction should an occasional mistake occur. Typically, when I have emailed auction houses or ebay sellers about incorrectly listed ND jerseys, I usually get no response, a nasty email back telling me to go away, or thanks for the information and yet no change to the listing. Scott always appreciates any information and corrects his listings if/as needed. As such, I continue to do business with them, and have some very nice jerseys to show for it. The Lopienski jersey that I posted earlier came from them - a true fullback jersey!
Hope this helps.

Like Mike I have bought many things from Scott and he is always helpful and responsive. Most of my Miami jerseys have the name on the back and the ones I have that are game used show it on the name plate as well.
