    Donn Clendenon

Do you folks have any shipping records for Clendenon bats? I've got a model G105, it's 36" long and about 36 oz. The center brand looks like a c-18, according to the Vince Malta book. Can you verify that Clendenon ordered one of these?

Hi Corsairs22 - based on your description, the bat has a labeling period from 1965 - 1968 with a 1969 variation - would love to see pics if you could post them - Clendenon was a favorite of mine growing up in NY in the late 60's and early 70's. During the 1965 - 1969 period, Clendenon had 21 orders of G105 model bats. If your bat is 36" long and weighs 36 ounces, here are the exact orders for 36/36 bats from that period:
    • 1-24-66 / 10 bats - wide grain and flame burned w/ weights marked
    • 1-31-69 / 4 bats - wide grain and flame burned with weights marked
Let me know how else I can help - thanks! jim

      Jim
Clendenon was one hitting in the middle of the Pirates lineup when as a little kid I first started following the Bucs on a daily basis. Is there any particular feature of the bat (or any old bat) that is especially helpful or interesting to you? the knob? the grain? In any case, thanks for the help. Mark
