Question Retail Authentic Jerseys vs. Fake Aftermarket Junk

Is there a way to tell if a jersey on eBay is retail authentic vs. fake aftermarket crap? I am looking at buying a jersey just to wear around - albeit loose and baggy - and I found the following on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/2001-Jeff-Bagwel...6.c0.m14.l1318. The seller does say that the inner wash tag says "6200", but I don't know if that's enough to ensure that it is real.

    Thanks for your help!

That Bagwell looks good to me.The fake crap Majestic imitation jerseys seem to start at $29.99-$32.99.They seem to be real Majestic, but are usually the replica versions doctored up with "Authentic" Collection tags.Usually you can tell as they generally don't have any special patches on them (i.e.-the blue Padres alternate jersey fake has no Friar sleeve patch like the true Authentic). For whatever reason,I've also noticed if you look at the numbers on back they seem very stretched out and elongated and the NOB looks way too thick and blocky.Hope this helps...

The authentic retail jerseys have the embroidered Majestic logo on the sleeve. They will have the MLB logo on the neck. All the fakes that I have seen you can blatantly tell that the MLB or authentic tags have been added. As mentioned above the patches help out somewhat. Some fakes will also have sizes such as L, XL, ect.

    Thanks

You shouldnt worry about the jersey it's the real deal. You can EASILY spot the fake ones. The numbers on the fake ones look kind of silky and the frabics are super thin. Just look at some of the pictures of the fake jerseys and you will be able to tell easily.here is a link to a fake jersey.
You can also tell is a fake because the MLB Authentic tags have a hologram strip on the bottom and this one doesnt.

Platinum1 is right I bought one like that for under $50 . You can definately tell the difference. Definately not authentic.
