Removing tape residue from an unfinished bat

    Hello all,

I know there were threads for removing tape residue from bats, but all of it seemed to apply to finished bats. The bat I have is unfinished and I would like to remove the residue but I am worried the goo-gone or hair spray may stain the bat in some way. Maybe water and a sponge would work? Help!!!

Re: Removing tape residue from an unfinished bat

Well, because I could find nothing online to help with this (from researching google), I decided to try and use a little sponge with water, but that did not work as it just made the area I was working on more sticky. So I then tried to rub it off with my dry hands. This actually works over time! I eventually really got into it though and I have blisters on both thumbs (Arghh!!!)! Once they are healed I will start back up and finish what I set out to do. In the meantime, if anyone comes up with any tried and true methods for an unfinished bat, let me know! My thumbs will thank you!
