    1969 Padres Jersey A10

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1969-SanDiego-Pa...QQcmdZViewItem

Correct me if im wrong but shouldnt first year Padres Jerseys have a San Diego Shoulder Patch? I know the patch is very rare and worth about $300 bucks. So my question is how can a jersey missing a major patch still get an A10?
    Thanks

You can blow up the image of the LOA and they mention the patch is missing. I would contact Troy at MEARS and ask him how they still gave this item an A10 without the patch if you are concerned.

    Posters,

I pulled out my Mears worksheets for some of my jerseys and the worksheet states the jersey should be issued a -1 for missing patch.

There is a 1969 Padres flannel in this month's AMI auction and it does have the patch on it. It does not however, have the 100th anniversary patch on the opposite sleeve.

I a sure if you contact Troy he will review and make the correction.

I am pretty sure that in 1969 the Padres wore only the SD patch (Conquistador) on the road (left sleeve) and either the MLB or SD patch at home, again on left sleeve. I don't remember seeing the two patches together on any of the 1969 uniforms, either the actual jerseys (I've had a few) or in any photos. It's been awhile though, I may be mistaken.

    Re: 1969 Padres Jersey A10

Troy did make a post about this jersey. It reads:

"Currently there is a 1969 Padres jersey on ebay evaluated by Dave Bushing. A question has been raised regarding the grade and the patch. Any specific questions for the jersey should be directed to Dave Bushing as he was the authenticator for this item.

A quick search on Ebay does show a dated photo from the Topps Vault of a jersey which appears to not have the additional anniversary patch on the left sleeve which would support Dave's original findings.

I spoke briefly about this jersey and Dave told me he used a photo that was referenced in the 1969 Padres yearbook. He asked me to find the item in our library and post a photo over the weekend.

Images used to evaluate jerseys should be referenced in our LOO's and I will make sure to update any information after our review.

    Regards,

    Troy R. Kinunen"

That seems to work along with the lines of Mike Specht's post below I believe.
