Need batting helmet help

I need help reading the date code on an ABC Orioles batting helmet. It has the 1989-1997 pattern Orioles bird with the orange eyeball, no MLB patch. If somebody can tell me how to read the interior date code, I'd really appreciate it.

If you can send me photos of the helmet and close up of the date wheel, I'll take a stab at it. Understanding the old date wheels is more of an art than a science, and in all honesty I don't even think the folks at ABC even can provide a straight answer. I have an old SCD article which attempts to decifer the code (tougher than Da Vinci's) as best as possible, but even the author who spoke to ABC reps could not explain it with any comfort!
