    "Game issued" Jordan jersey

so i saw this jersey on ebay and i thought it was pretty interesting.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320306379610

it's from sdb23 who seems to have a bottomless supply of early jordan "game issued" jerseys, shorts, and warmups. what i thought was interesting was the tagging and the fonts. the auction description reads: "MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE CHICAGO BULLS AND #23 MICHAEL JORDAN TO WEAR......THIS JERSEY IS GAME ISSUED/WORN....EXTREMELY RARE...... THIS JERSEY WAS NEVER AVAILABLE FOR THE PUBLIC TO PURCHASE IN ANY STORE OR OUTLIT"

the russell tags show the 1991 year and the +3" customization. at a minimum it's at least a solid procut right? the jersey bears a number AND nob font never used by the bulls. (the nob font is reminiscent of the 1992 jordan olympic fakes.) so what is this thing? a customized factory blank that some local shop screwed up?

I don't think I have ever seen game used jerseys with the name on back so close to the collar, must be either a procut or custom.

"legit" procuts don't screw up the nob and number fonts. high-end retail jerseys don't even screw them up. if you went on any of the 4 major sport league websites and ordered one of their "authentic" jerseys, the nob and number fonts would be correct. that's what i find it interesting..it's not even good enough to be a procut. the nob/numbers didn't come from champion.

the custom thing is curious because it's got that "+3" customization and the pro tagging. so if the nob and number fonts were completely screwed up, then what did it start out as..a customized blank?

of course, i'm assuming the "1991, +3" tag is legit (ie: added by champion) which i realize may be an overly optimistic assumption. the champion year/+3 tag may have been added by the same entity that did the nob/numbers.

anyway, check out the nob on the '92 jordan olympic fakes. it's exactly the same as seen on this ebay jordan.:

i wonder why frenchie larue wanted to remove the nob and numbers. somehow sdb23 ended up with it.

my favorite lines from the other forum and the ebay ad:

"I'm having a hard time believing this is a game issued jersey."

"It's really a Procut game issued... and i know already the history of production of this jersey ... Thanks for your reply but it's not the problem"

it's not a game-issued jersey but a "Procut game issued". maybe something got lost in the translation. i'm willing to bet the history of production of this jersey is very much the problem.

"THIS JERSEY WAS NEVER AVAILABLE FOR THE PUBLIC TO PURCHASE IN ANY STORE OR OUTLIT"

maybe it was also never available for the bulls to wear in any game?

Hello, i am the frenchie and i don't understand what you want say about my topic on the other forum about to remove the wrong customizing of name and number of this jersey ...????
I am just a collector and i have this jersey on my hands ... it's really a procut made for the Bulls with the size for MJ ( 46 +3 ), but i don't know why, it was never customized to be a game issued ... Maybe a day, a guy got it and made a bad customizing ... Here is probably the real history i think ...
I have a australian friend who have the same with the good number and letters ... and except the 2 "23" and "Jordan", it the same procut ( materials, size, tags, bulls & logo nba ... )

sdb23 got it with the same seller who sold me this jersey ... sdb23 is a re-seller ... me , no ... i am a collector and i want this stuff on my MJ jersey collection, with bad custom or not ... but i would prefer try to remove the wrong custom if possible, i think that a collector can understand me, isn't it ?

    Regards,
    MJ

Great work by all. Amazing that you now even have the source of this $3,999 Pro-Cut!!!!

It was fairly obvious before that this never saw the inside of Michael's locker, but now we have the proof!

I think it again leads to the credibility of these sellers going forward on all items.
