The BCA NFL shield replaces the regular NFL shield, and I've seen plenty of players rocking blank front bumpers:
He has a blank front bumper because he is wearing a Rawlings helmet. Riddell has a contract with the NFL so any other helmet used (players can choose their lid regardless) must have no company name/logo on it; hence the blank bumper for all Rawlings and Schutt used helmets.
New recent pickup via NFL auctions. Jim Dray # 81 and TE for the Arizona Cardinals. Really has nice use evident on the top and the mask…a nice addition to my growing NFL gamer collection.
Hi Tom1315,
Nice helmet. Cool addition. Did you bid on the one with the visor also? I don't recall whose it was. Too bad the NFL doesn't have more GU helmets for auction. How much did they finally close at? Lost track of the close. Thanks
Pac, the tape was surprising to me too. In the auction they had three helmets, each with tape, the Dray, #3 Jay Feely's and #95 Ricky Lumpkin's. My sense was it was a quick way to see whose helmet it was by putting the tape on with the name and year.
Steeleraddict, the cost for the Lumpkin with a visor was $653 and the Feely $605. The Dray cost me $430 which I felt pretty good about.
