    AMI: "1986 Canseco rookie jersey"

    i saw this shirt:

    http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/A...ction_ID=46807

and it reminded me of this earlier thread:

    http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...ad.php?t=15968

anyway, i'd be interested in hearing people's opinions in how the front team wordmark matches up. something seems askew to me. the atypical stitching on the rawlings tag doesn't help.

anyway, like i said, i'd be curious to hear what people think. here's juan iglesias' '85 canseco shirt:

The "K" from the AMI jersey is way off from the photo of Canseco. The thickness of the lettering is different as well. Look at the spaces in the arches of the letter A's. None of the letters on the AMI jersey match the jersey in the photo.

Re: AMI: "1986 Canseco rookie jersey"

i've been going back through some of AMI's "canseco rookie gamers" and i've noticed some consistent oddities. first, here's a couple of 1985/1986 oakland shirts that i like. first, juan iglesias' '85 canseco shirt. look how nicely the letters are cut:

perfect. take special note of the "A":

here's an '86 shirt (not a canseco) that i also like:

now here's a green '86 that i like. still the letters are nicely cut:

    the "A"'s are consistent.

now here are 3 different canseco jerseys offered by AMI (all from '86):

all i'm saying is that whoever's cutting these keeps jamming up on the "A". it's supposed to taper upwards, not be a square.

here's dan's 1986 canseco shirt with properly cut letters:

to my eye, the differences among all of the jerseys are really
pronounced. compare those to the ones seen on the AMI shirts.

i made a nice, little montage that better illustrates the differences. the well-cut letters on the left and the "interesting" ones on the right. all 3 shirts on the right were offered by AMI.

you can also see the differences in the "L", notably the lower portion.

GFC recently put up a couple of A's common player gamers. Letters look good. There's already 1 bid on the AMI canseco.

currently has 3 bids and is at $484. i wonder if the high bidder is wondering why he's about to get a "1986 game-worn canseco rookie jersey" for less than $500 while the 1997 canseco game-helmet at AMI is at almost $3500.

same old garbage. over and over..and over:

if the same "mistake" occurs over and over is it still negligence or does it veer into fraud?
