The Amonte jersey was a donation he mad to the MS Giving fund raiser. He sent a limo down that drove us to Vancuver and put us up in hotel room....very kind man if you ask me

Re: Hockey! yup still cleaning out my closet!
Couple other key images for the Amonte jersey. I do think its at least game issue and Tony was a multi-year all star and team captin. Would love to hear from the hockey experts on this one! The game jerseys I have seen on the web match this one very well, but hockey aint my game!
Cheers,
Ty

Re: Hockey! yup still cleaning out my closet!
Hi Ty,
I want to start by saying I am not bashing your item nor do I think you are misrepresenting it. I see you asked for info from hockey collectors and I felt I could help educate.
Hockey happens to be my focus so I feel I should chime in on your jersey. It is a late 90's Alternate Chicago Blackhawks Authentic jersey. Nike made their shirts during this period. Due to the fight strap I would say it is an Authentic model rather than a replica as the strap and double reinforced elbows are normally the only easy ways to tell them apart. However, it is a store bought authentic jersey and not team issued or game worn. I know this for a fact because of some other tell tail signs.
1) The collar tagging. The Nike tag is correct but it is missing 2 other tags that should be sewn next to it. Usually in game worn jerseys I have seen, one large tag is sewn over the small size tag or that tag is absent. Also the Center Ice tag is a dead giveaway for a store bought jersey, I have never seen one in a game issued or used shirt for any team.
2) The name on back is sewn into the jersey. Like most teams (Anaheim is an example of an exception at one time) names were sewn into nameplates and the plate was sewn into the jersey. This is much like baseball and football jerseys as opposed to basketball jerseys.
3) The numbers. Most teams used tackle twill and Chicago was no exception. They just look off. Are they sewn onto the jersey? They also look rubberized although that could be the camera causing distortion. However the numbers are also the truest tell tale sign that this is a customized store bought. The color of the numbers are inverted. They should be white with red trim not the other way around.
See the pictures below for an example of what a game worn Chicago Blackhawks Alternate jersey looks like. It's still a nice shirt but unfortunately not Issued or Worn. Good luck in your sale!

Re: Hockey! yup still cleaning out my closet!
Thanks for the response.
The numbers are sewn on, like I said he/his team donated with 4 tickets and a limo ride to vancouver to see them play. It was a charity gig. I dont think it wsa ever stated used, issue back when I got it....its been in my colset for 10+ years.....Whats it worth? 100? It is a quality jersey and sig...
Cheers

I too have several hammered Boston Bruins game worn jerseys with the Center Ice tagging so that is not the end all be all for inauthenticity.
