    Weighing Bats // Scales

I saw a beautiful Stan Musial L.S. signature model labeling from 34-44 or so. The man used a kitchen scale to determine the weight when I asked him. How reliable can a kitchen weight scale be? How do people in the authentication business weigh the bats exactly.? Is it on a scale similar to one in the produce Isles in supermarkets? Do you collectors have scales like this to check weights? Can bats become significantly lighter through the years to throw off a good bat?

a digital postal scale is the best. i have one that i use to ship packages as well as weighing bats.

wood does dried out after time and bats loosing a a couple of ounces is not uncommon. for example, i have a gamer that when made, it weighed 34oz. now, 33.4.

there is a thread here on that same topic that you can look up as i don't remember where it is. if anyone does, by all means post it.
