    george brett bat

admittedly, i know next to nothing about bats as most of my knowledge is in hockey jerseys, so i was curious what you guys think of this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

if psa grades something a 9, is that an automatic green light?

also, anyone know anything about the seller or even what a bat like this should go for in this economy? shows great wear and pinetar, but is cracked

3k seems very high to me, but again, i have no basis for comparison

thanks for any help you can give,

    Philip

Very nice Brett. I would venture a guess that the bat probably won't sell for 3K. I would guess closer to $1500-1700 for that much use. I didn't see the crack. That could have a bearing on the buyer too.

You should read the thread about the Mike Schmidt bat being altered. That bat came from the same seller. I would just watched out for any items coming from this guy. This bat seems to be fine because it comes with a PSA letter.

The bat is nearly 3 ounces lighter than what is in Bretts ordering records.

The weight bothered me as well... I have some old gamers that are a little lighter than when they were ordered, but 3 seems a bit much...

does anyone know what the acceptable "range" is for weight loss?

my biggest beef with this item is the following. John basically will tell you and has told me many times that the only way a gamer is eligible for a 9 or 10 is if it has provenance as directly coming from the player(as in player gave it directly to you or to another individual who sold it to you). Then you constantly find examples like this with no such provenance. Makes you wonder.
