The guy with the best collection of old baseball film is Doak Ewing. His website is: http://www.raresportsfilms.com/

He describes his 1969 Cubs-Phils game as the oldest known complete regular season game, although I have the 9/30/1967 Twins-Red Sox final game of the season on DVD.

Anyway, I'd contact Doak, and he'll tell you it doesn't exist, but he may have some highlight footage from that season that might give you what you want.

    Good luck,
    Mark

I honestly believe a video of this game does not exist. If you're curious, you can find a TV listing for 9-24-54 to see if the game was even broadcast in Philly or New York. If not, the search is over for sure. But even if it were broadcast, the networks did not save video of most programs because of space/financial considerations.

The first "practical" video recorder, the AMPEX VRX-1000, was not released until 1956, a full two years after the game you're looking for, at a cost of $50,000 (not including the expensive and bulky video tape and reels).

If the game WERE broadcast at all, the only hope would be if a "kinescope" copy was made to send to the armed forces overseas. But, as Doak Ewing would probably tell you, these kinescopes usually featured significant games as opposed to just random ones.

                Anthony,

Thanks for the feedback. In reality. I just want the highlights. Example Tv broadcast of someone hitting a homerun in the game. How do you find the listing for the 9-24-54 game. You mean on Doak website? Just let me know. Thanks. B.F.
