pitcher's bats
does a bat with this style barrel brand necessarily mean it is a pitcher's bat?

Re: pitcher's bats
That's a team bat which can be used by pitchers or anyone else who may not have their own bat. There are earlier HB bats which are stamped "PITCHERS" which were made specifically for pitchers but then again whose to stop anyone else from using them.
Whether or not the "team" stamped bats were made to replace "Pitchers" stamped bats is a good question for BMH.
