Anyone have any idea when he used this.I was looking on Getty and found one photo which looks like the same tape job

Minor league bat due to the absence of the team name and presence of Louisville slugger instead is my guess.

Possibly a bp bat used in his rookie year or spring training in 2003..

Judging from the photos you found yes. Rookies have used their minor supply of bats in the bigs before. I have a 2000 Timo Perez he used with the Mets that was a minor league bat as it too is stamped LOUISIVILLE SLUGGER under his block letter name like that Reyes.

The guy said he got it last year from a friend in the Mets organization..
