Forum Readers-

I bring your attention to the following auction on Ebay for a Mike Piazza "Pro" model glove:

Pleaase note that there are two dots directly after the name. It is important to note that Rawlings manufactured these gloves with the two dots to distinguish them from a player issued glove. No player issued glove will ever have these dots. I want to bring light to this because a few years ago, I purchased a McGwire first basemans glove from a huge auction house, and in the auction catalog and web photos, it looked perfect. Upon winning it and closer inspection, you could see where there goldish stitching in the two small dots after the name were removed, and the leather scuffed up to try to hide this. Needless to say, the auction rules that "all sales are final" were not enforced and my money was refunded.

A word to the wise-be extremely careful when purchaing Rawlings modern era gloves with similar gold/yellow stitiching. Examine it for the two dots that may have been removed, and also know, these are not player issued/worn gloves.

I welcome the knowledge of any glove experts to add to this thread.
