Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
As I stated, "It's always easier to talk smack after you leave. Seems to be common with many."
Not an attack directly at Torre, but many of those who do it after they leave. Very common these days. I don't pay much mind to it. In many of these cases, there are always bad feelings when things like this happen, so many do their talking afterwards.

Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
I like Torre better than Arod-who doesn't? That's crap about "who couldn't win a title with all the talent he had." What's the Yankees excuse the last 8 years then? Highest paid team the last 8 years running and they can't win crap. Torre goes to Dodgers and gets them in the playoffs his first year there. I'm not a big Torre fan either, but I respect the man. That's more than I can say for the Yankees and Arod.

I think the timing of the book is strange. Typically you write a book like this after your career is over and you are out of the sport. Torre is still active.
Maybe Joe want to get his jabs in while Steinbrenner is still alive.metsbats86@aol.com
Always looking for 1973,1986,1988,1999,2000,2006 game used Mets post season and Bobby M. Jones and Ed Hearn NY Mets game used bats.

Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
Well, ESPN is reporting that those comment where not made by Torre. The book is being written in the third person, and is from Tom Verducci point of view. Wow how people are quick to jump the gun. Torre was a great manger and a great Yankee. Appreciate the man that lead the Yankees to 4 World Series Titles.

Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
WOW AGAIN I AM SHOCKED AT SO MANY OF YOU - ESPECIALLY 3AROD13.
Talk smack after he leaves????? What smart personw ould talk smack while you there?????? As they saying goes you don't sh%^ where you eat....
Hes no longer there!!!
I will agree partially with you about the (titles, talent and Torre). Wow sounds like a good book lollol
Yes Torre had a championship talent caliber team, but a team can't get there with out direction. Point Blank!!
As far as him ripping players and managemant have you forgotten all the controversy he was put through esepcially within in his last years as manager. How every year Steinbrenner threatened him of having a job or getting resigned unless he got the team to the post season???? It was all over the newspapers every year how management was treating Torre..... Do you actually expect him to have nothing to say back???
As far as ripping players realisticallt he had to be one of the nicest interviewers to the New York media when AROD and others constantly screwing up and took tons of heat by the press that it was his fault and then management would even come down more on him.
ARE YOU REALLY ALL THAT SHOCKED THAT THE BEAST HAS BEEN AWAKENED????
I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE THINKING IT WAS JUST A MTTER OF TIME.
THIHNK ABOUT AFTER 10 YEARS OR SO HOW QUIET AND NICE AND POLITE HE WAS ABOUT EVERYTHING ALL THOSE YEARS!!!

Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
Being a great manager isn't just winning championships with the talent on the field, its managing the personalities/egos in the clubhouse and Torre was great at that.
Of coarse he was going to wait until he left to say things about players/management- why would he do it while still there???
I think the book should have been written when he is out of the game- very possible that he may need to work with individuals mentioned in the book.
The A-Fraud stuff are consistent with what has been said about him for years. The only difference is that its coming from a coach that is universally respected around the game.

Re: Torre Rips Arod/Cashman
Not sure why you specifically called me out on this. However, reread my comments:
As I stated, "It's always easier to talk smack after you leave. Seems to be common with many."

This was not directed at Torre. Only a comment in reference to many people do this after they leave.
