Current Ebay offering is a "1998 Pat Burrell jersey". After asking the seller for additional information about the shirt, I was informed that it was worn by Burrell during his first spring training in 1998 when he was with the Clearwater Phillies. The sller further noted that Burrell onl;y wore #61 during the time with Clearwater in 1998. Likewise, it has a LOA from Historic and the autograph is PSA certified.

Based on my understanding of jerseys, the MLB logo patch on the exterior of the collar was first introduced to jerseys starting with the 2000 season. As such, how can this be attributed to Burrell's 1998 season, 2 seasons before the patch was first incorporated

Any insight is appreciated.
