I was doing my daily browsing of GU jerseys this morning and came across this Julius Peppers "Game Used" jersey.

HAHA! I agree! I sent him a small message and this is what I said,

Hey man, you better not waste your time with selling this jersey. This is a retail jersey, not a game worn. It has the retail tag on the neck line. The sleeves are also incorrect. Also no stains or hit marks? A game worn Peppers jersey would be hammered with hitmarks and stains. What a joke!

Suave, the jersey for 1 has a retail tag on the neck. The neck of game used jerseys have a small tag which indicate the year the jersey was made and the size. For example a 2008 jersey in a size 46 would say 08-46. See my London jersey at the bottom. Also the sleeves for a defensive lineman are totally cut differently. Unlike baseball where the sleeves are pretty much the same length. See the Julius Peppers picture below. Plus the seller is claiming no stains....Julius Peppers is one of the best Defensive Ends in the NFL. He isn't going to keep his jersey clean.

As a collector of game-worn Panthers jerseys and helmets I was also amused when I came across this offering. I was fortunate enough to acquire a Peppers game-worn jersey last year from NFL Auctions. As everyone has said, it shows a great deal of wear. It has one huge repair below the front numbers that is over a foot long.
The gentleman who is offering the Peppers jersey obviously is not familiar with the special "look" of a true game-worn football jersey. I hope no one is duped by this jersey.

I think it depends on the time of the year. In September most home teams wear white because it's still pretty hot.
