Maybe I am looking too hard at this possible photomatch...?

As an avid Mientkiewicz bat collector, I was struck by the similarities of a Shea Hillenbrand bat in Historic Auction's Guide to Doug's use patterns. I could only find one image of him swining a bat during his first at bat as a Red Sox where the end of the barrell looks blackened out. also markings on knob look similar. Am I looking too close? - Joe

The blacked name on the bat and the tar look pretty close... the knob looks off to me...

in the picture the darkest black spot looks to be close to the edge of the knob... and have writing to the left and top... the auction seems more centered and have writing to the right and top
