Steven Roy Howe, a star-crossed former Dodgers relief pitcher who became as well-known for his run-ins with drug and alcohol as for his on-field prowess was killed early today in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 10 near Coachella

I will personally miss Howe as I met him on several occasions and most recently about a month ago and he did me a favor an autographed a bat for me with the inscription 96 world series champs which he did not do for everyone at the time.
