Just recently into getting gloves (was primarily into bats and cleats). So far I have two Sam Demel from his Stockton Ports days and Josh Wilkie from his Nationals minor league days. They are put away right now as I'm currently reorganizing to a new game room in my house but I'll dig up some pics later and post.
2009 Gold Glove Winner Adam Jones' probable first MLB game used fielder's glove. AP picture is from 7/15/2006, while Jones debuted in the Majors just one day earlier on 7/14/2006. Glove was clearly relaced at some point, I believe in late 2007 or early 2008. The original black lacing has all been replaced with the exception of the thumb strap. Very heavy use, vertical bar on the thumb side of the webbing has completely broken free and there is some great wear on the pocket webbing. Glove was retired and signed in 2008.
Check this out. Another great item added to my Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez collection.
It's a game used glove dated and photomatched to September 22, 2004.
The story behind this glove is that he had recently signed an agreement to wear LVS TPX gloves. He received the wrong model gloves and needed to pitch, but couldn't with a Rawlings glove. I believe he had a back up glove and cut out any markings with the Rawlings logo.
See the pics.
Amazing piece!
Enjoy!
This Billy Butler first baseman's mitt was used for nearly the entire 2009 season, from Spring Training through the end of the season. The webbing broke sometime around 9/20/2010 and the glove was retired after the season ended a couple weeks later. Barring any unexpected changes, this will probably be the most heavily used glove of Butler's career as he played 145 Games at first base in 2009.
