Question on Twins uniform transition 1986-87

    Hi -

Does anyone know if the if Twins used their blue and white knit pullover jerseys (1972 - 1986 style) during spring training in 1987? I know that it's not uncommon for teams to introduce a new uniform style for opening day. Also, Did the twin recycle their older knits to the farm teams, and if so, how long were these still being worn ?

    Thanks

Re: Question on Twins uniform transition 1986-87

The Twins not only recycled heavily regarding their minor league teams, they even did so in the Majors, as well. I recall seeing the equipment guys bring in Twins jerseys at the Old Comiskey Park visitors entrance in 1982, and several jerseys had older tail tags, one even going back to 1978. There's a Twins gamer of Bobby Castillo in the upcoming MEARS auction that was converted from a NOB gamer to a NNOB gamer. It's hard to find Twins knits in used, but not abused shape until around 1984, roughly the time Carl Pohlad took over the team.
