It appears Canadians didn't value HR bats in 1996...
Thought this ebay listing for a Joe Carter bat was funny.
THIS RARITY IS UNCRACKED AND READY FOR YOUR SHOWCASE AND DESPITE THE HOME RUNS JOE HIT WITH THIS BAT ( CANADIANS ESPECIALLY DIDN'T LOOK UPON A HOME RUN BAT AS A MONETARY COLLECTIBLE BACK IN 1996 ) THE SLIGHT CHIP AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PINE TAR VIEWABLE IN A PHOTOGRAPH PROBABLY RETIRED THIS ONE FROM ACTION.
It's a pro stock bat, not Carter's signature model BTW.

Funny.
I don't even think Carter used R161 model bats.
He started out with S2s and finally settled on the J93's and B343'smetsbats86@aol.com
