1995 Frank Thomas White Sox AUTO-Game worn?

I would appreciate any help you guys might have with this. The previous owner bought this jersey from a charity auction as a game jersey. She has little knowledge of the jersey history. The signs I can see are slight pulls and the red marks on the tag that.

From the photos, it sure looks good to me. The tag has some nice wash wear and everything else is consistent. Frank Thomas used to have his own charity in the Chicago area and this jersey could have come from that. It also could have come from any other Sox charity event.

why does the size, year tagging seem to exhibit more wash wear than the 100% Polyester flap right above it?

You would need to feel the polyester tag and see it up close to determine if it has the same use at the strip tag. I don't think the polyester tags fade as much as the strip tags do, but they do curl up and soften.

I'm not sure about that, but I would agree with Karamax Joe. Especially comforting is Thomas' #35 on the strip tag. Extras and replacement player jerseys from 1995 have just a size and a year...no number.

    Dave,

I've noticed those variation stip tags on 95 Sox jerseys and always wondered why some were missing the player number or both player number and size. I haven't seen that on any other Russell Sox jerseys except for 95. Did the Sox do that for other Russell jerseys between 92 and 99?

If they did, it was on a far more limited basis than in '95.

As first I thought they added the year tagging later but it appears to be stitched with one thread continuously through the Russell tag.
