2006 Griffey "gamer" on ebay... LOL

    All,

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Ken-Griffey-Jr-R...lenotsupported

Don't have any idea what this jersey is, but...

    1. No front numbers.

    2. Piping is wrong color & pattern.

    3. Being that it is a 2006 style, Majestic would have manufactured it, not Russell.

    4. Wrong size tag.

    5. No property tag.

    6. Russell tag looks like it has a jagged cut along bottom.

This jersey has more holes than swiss cheese.

Alright guys, the jersey is not as bad as I initially thought...

In 2004, the Reds did wear this style jersey. My mistake. I still have my concerns with the actual ebay item, but my original post was not factual and I do need to retract some of the things I said about the jersey...

    1. No front numbers. (this is in fact right for the 2004 red alternate)

    2. Piping is wrong color & pattern. (this too is right)

    3. Being that it is a 2006 style, Majestic would have manufactured it, not Russell. (it is not a 2006, it's a 2004, and the 2004s were made by Russell)

    4. Wrong size tag. (not enough evidence to prove or disprove now that we're dealing with a different manufacturer)

    5. No property tag. (still an issue)

    6. Russell tag looks like it has a jagged cut along bottom. (still an issue)

    7. Font of NOB appears problematic (the "R" appears especially wide as compared to photos of Griffey in a similar uniform).

    Jeff,

If you want my objective opinion, here goes...

    1. Lack of Steiner paperwork or holograms on a 2006-2007 Mets jersey is a red flag onto itself.

    2. Looks like a wrong customization -- I have never seen a David Wright jersey with +1" sleeve length. Wright has had +1" body length before but I have yet to see sleeve length.

    3. Seller has 2 items with issues, whether it be tagging issues or lack of team documentation where appropriate. Both of star players. That should say it all.

    Nick

    Just to add to this.

    David Wright Jersey
I think the homemade stitch job added to the lower tail tag would be a red flag for me.

That seems to be a common trait on Mets jerseys:
